Motorcycle trip along the Croatian North coast from Dalmatia to Istria

This is one of the longest routes we recommend for a week-long tour! It combines spectacular coastal roads and the exploration of many islands in the northern Adriatic. Part of the route requires taking a ferry, which our proposal includes.

When dividing the motorcycle route into daily segments, you can enjoy a harmonious balance of secluded beaches in Lošinj and beautiful driving experiences along scenic roads. The coastal villages feature charming bays, hidden beaches, and clear waters. Additionally, there are numerous walking trails, hiking paths, and mountain routes leading to secluded coves on the islands.

The motorbike journey begins in Split, the second-largest city in Croatia, situated on the Dalmatian coast, known for its historic center, stunning Diocletian Palace, Roman architecture, and vibrant waterfront. From Split, travelers will embark on a scenic drive along the main road toward Šibenik, a city celebrated for its well-preserved medieval heritage, including the impressive Šibenik Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continuing on, the route leads to Zadar, another city steeped in history, where visitors can explore ancient Roman ruins, stroll along the renowned waterfront known as the “Greeting to the Sun,” and listen to the harmonious sounds of the Sea Organ.

After experiencing the cultural delights of Zadar, travelers will take a ferry to the enchanting island of Mali Lošinj. Known for its lush Mediterranean landscapes and crystal-clear waters, Mali Lošinj offers opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, and swimming, as well as charming seaside towns to explore.

Following the adventures in Mali Lošinj, the journey proceeds to the nearby island of Cres. Cres is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, quaint villages, and rich biodiversity, providing a serene escape into nature. After a delightful visit, travelers will cross over to Brestovo on the mainland, where you ride to Opatija, one of the most beautiful towns in Istria.

The final leg of the journey takes you along the breathtaking Adriatic coastal roads. This scenic drive showcases stunning views of sparkling blue waters, rugged cliffs, and charming coastal towns. Ultimately, the trip concludes back in Split, leaving you with lasting memories of the stunning landscapes and rich cultural experiences of this beautiful region.
